VAN BUREN - Della O. Bellefleur, 70, passed away on August 10, 2014 at a Van Buren health care facility after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Van Buren on March 2, 1944, daughter of the late Onezime and Bertha (Violette) Ouellette. Della graduated from Sacred Heart School and went on to get her teaching degree in Fort Kent. She taught at the elementary school in Van Buren for forty four years until her retirement in 2012. Teaching was her passion in life and she loved being able to help the students in Van Buren. Della was a communicant of St. Bruno/St. Remi Church. She enjoyed spending time with her family, but especially being with her grandchildren. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Vernon Bellefleur of Van Buren; two daughters, Gail Burlock and her husband Bruce of Caribou, Donna Cyr and her husband Don of Van Buren Cove; one son, Glen Bellefleur and his wife Lisa of Scarborough; seven grandchildren, Lindsay, Dustin, Bradley, Jordan, Kylie, Erica, and Jake; two great grandchildren, Landin and Jase; three sisters, Rachel Lajoie of Connecticut, Joan Dumond of Van Buren, Glenda Roy of Van Buren; two brothers, Herman Ouellette and his wife Lillian of Van Buren, Clayton Ouellette of Connecticut; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by one grandson, Alex Bellefleur; her twelve siblings, Violette, Raymond, Harold, Gilman, Gerald, Geraldine, Jewel, Christine, Carleen, Jacqueline "Jack", Jeannine, and Gladys. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11am on Wednesday, August 13, 2014. At St. Bruno Catholic Church. Family and friends may call at Lajoie Funeral Home from 6-8pm on Tuesday, August 12 and from 9:30 until 10:30am Wednesday.
