BANGOR and CORINNA - Darlene (Watson) Frati, 67, died March 16, 2013, with her loving children by her side. Darlene passed peacefully from their hands to those of her waiting husband and parents, after a brief battle with cancer. She was born March 15, 1946, in Dexter, a daughter of Leland and Auora (Caron) Watson.

Darlene had been employed in the offices of Fayscott-Landis Machine Shop, Dexter; Cole's Express, Bangor; and most recently at Hartt's Transportation, Bangor, who have been most supportive during this difficult time. Darlene's favorite moments in life were those spent with her large extended family, many friends and her beloved dog, Mackie. Her pride and joy were her children and grandchildren, and she strongly supported them in all their endeavors in life. She was most often found loudly cheering in the stands of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren's basketball, football, soccer and wrestling events, ever their strong advocate. Everyone who knew her could always expect to be greeted with her beautiful smile and her "bear like" warm hugs.

She is survived by her daughter, Melissa and husband, Robert Norris, of Newport; a son, Daniel Webber and his fiancée, Danielle Daggett, of Dexter; four stepsons, Douglas and wife, Erin Frati, Kent and wife, Glenda Frati, all of Palmyra, Alan and wife, Claudia Frati, of New Hampshire and Glenn and wife, Laura Frati, of Massachusetts; a stepdaughter, Gail and husband, Bob Greenblatt, of Portland; two sisters, Edna and husband, Ron Chase, of Durham and Bernice and husband, Jack Quirk, of Hampden; 14 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews; and her mother-in-law, Muriel Frati of Bangor. Darlene was predeceased by her husband and partner in life of more than 35 years, Hugo. Together they shared many wonderful times and adventures dancing, golfing and traveling through those years. She was also predeceased by two brothers, Leland Watson Jr. and Garfield Watson. A very special thank you goes to Linda Farrar and Alicia McNally for their friendship and dedication. The family thanks the staff at CancerCare of Maine, Bangor Area Visiting Nurses and Hospice of Eastern Maine for their wonderful support and care during this very difficult time. Special thanks also to Erica Parker for her loving care, and Sam Clement for her companionship during her last few days.

Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, March 21, at Crosby & Neal, 117 Main St., Newport, where friends may call 11 a.m. until the time of services. Pastor Tim Curtis will officiate. Spring burial will be at Corinna Village Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Eastern Maine, 412 State St., Bangor, ME 04401. Those who wish may leave written condolences at www.CrosbyNeal.com.
