BANGOR - Coral (French) McCormack, 86, died Dec. 19, 2012, at a Bangor nursing facility. She was born March 9, 1926, in Bangor, the daughter of Vernon and Abby (Schillinger) French.

Coral was a graduate of Danforth High School, class of "43," and the University of Maine in 1947. She taught for many years at Orrington Elementary School. Coral was a member of the Rebekah's of Orrington. She married her husband Leroy R. McCormack, Feb. 7, 1947, and remained married for 50 years until his death in 1997.

In addition to her parents and husband, Leroy, she was predeceased by her brother, Irwin French. Coral is survived by one son, William McCormack; three daughters, Nancy and her husband, Robert Whitney, Susan and her husband, Nicholas Kesaris, and Jacqueline J. and her husband, Gary Geraway; five grandchildren, Lindsay and Ryan Whitney, Nicholas Kesaris III, Michael McCormack and Meghan Fenders and their mother, Joyce McCormack; eight great-grandchildren; and her sister, Mary Ellen and her husband, Stan Whiteman.

Relatives and friends may call 6-8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 21, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor, where funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 22, with the Rev.
