OAKFIELD - Carolyn L. Crandall died May 28, 2012, in Oakfield. She was born Aug. 14, 1939, in Castine, the daughter of Carl Drew and Elizabeth Lander. Carolyn had worked on the potato farm with her husband, then she received her certified nurse's aide and worked at Madigan Estates Nursing Home and then did home care. She then worked in the school department of Southern Aroostook Community School for 23 years. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting and making afghans for her family. She is survived by five children, Bruce and DeDe Edkins of Oakfield, Beth Edkins of Smyrna, Lisa and Brian Boutilier of Oakfield, Alison and Rick Burpee of Hermon, Kenneth III and Melissa Crandall of Island Falls; eight grandchildren, Erin and Adam Thompson, Corey and Shantelle Edkins, Michelle, Jeffery and Danielle Boutilier, Jeremy, Josh and Rebecca, Sara and Jaimie-Lynn; seven great-grandchildren, Brady and Kaitlin Thompson, Lexis, Caleb, Sayde Edkins, and Joshua Jr. and Xander Crandall; one brother, Robert and Barb Drew of Wichita Falls, Texas; sisters-in-law, Robin Crandall of Oakfield and Jennie Crandall of Raynham, Mass.; many nieces, nephews and cousins; and her companion, Toby. She was predeceased by her parents; husband, Kenneth; brothers-in-law, Gary, Dale, Henry and Frank Crandall; and mother-in-law and father-in-law, Kenneth and Pansy Crandall. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Oakfield Baptist Church. A graveside funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Friday at Oakfield Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the . Arrangements by Bowers Funeral Home.
