PITTSFIELD - Bruce M. Welch, 47, passed away unexpectedly from a tragic accident Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2013, in Pittsfield. Bruce was born June 15, 1965, at Eastern Maine Medical Center, Bangor, the son of Maurice Bradford and Delina (Paradis) Terrio.

He attended Newport Elementary and graduated from Maine Central Institute with the class of 1984. As a youth, he was baptized at St. Agnes Catholic Church, Pittsfield. He held multiple positions at Pike Industries, Fairfield, and was employed by them for more than 20 years. Bruce was a very likable guy, always smiling and had a strong work ethic. He enjoyed attending the stock car races and driving his recently purchased go-kart at Thundering Valley Raceway, St. Albans. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and golfing with his family and friends. He loved spending time with family and friends and appreciated all the simpler things in life. He was selfless; always putting others first.
He is survived by his son, Corey Welch and his companion, Jessica Girroir, of Pittsfield; his soon-to-be-born grandchild; his companion, Gale Lizzotte of Pittsfield and her two sons, Jon and Derrick; mother, Delina "Dee" Terrio of Newport; brother, Steven Welch and wife, Lucy, of Newport; sisters, Deborah Welch of Bangor and Brenda Welch of Newport; half brother, Robert Bradford; half sister, Marsha Bradford; uncle, Tim Paradis and wife, Carol, of Newport; aunts, Lillian Sawyer of Corinna and Nancy Bellfleur of Pittsfield; great-aunt, Mary Jane Alan of Newington, Conn.; friend and mother of Corey, Tammy Faloon of Newport; dearest friends, Tom McNeil, Sandy Wishart and the Brooks family, all of Pittsfield; several cousins, nieces, nephews and many friends. He was predeceased by his father, Maurice Bradford; stepfather, Harold Terrio; father-in-law, Galen Faloon; grandparents, Emile and Clarissa Paradis; godparents, Vic and Louise Poulin; uncle, Ernest "Red" Paradis; uncle, Robert Bellfleur; and extended family members, Eugene and Hazel Welch and Leland Welch.
A celebration of life will be held 2-4 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 5, at Shorey-Nichols Funeral Home, 191 Hartland Ave., Pittsfield, with prayers offered at 2:30 p.m. by Deacon David Denbow.
