CORINTH AND CHARLESTON - Brent Barry Skolfield, 45, died unexpectedly March 19, 2013, at his home. He was born Oct. 27, 1967, in Bangor, son of Barry and Diana (Tozier) Skolfield.

Brent was a hard worker and one-of-a-kind. He always put others before himself. Brent was very proud of going back, and received his GED through Bangor High School. He worked for Laborer's Union Local No. 1377, Eastern Fine Paper and Unicut Corp., until he became self-employed starting, Brent Skolfield's Home and Property Maintenance Co. Brent also worked in the words as part of his self employment. He had so many wonderful skills. Brent was always around the "blinking light" doing what he loved. He always said he would never stray too far from the blinking light. Brent and his father have had many wonderful times together. He loved his children so much and enjoyed the time that he got to spend with them. He called his mom every morning and always said, "I love you, Ma." He loved his family so much. Brent's family dog, Mary Kate was with him at his passing, and will be buried with him.

Brent was predeceased by his grandparents, Alfred and Doris Skolfield, and Walter and Marguerite Tozier; two uncles, Elden and Terry Tozier; two cousins, Joel and Troy Tozier; and best friend, Mike Tilton. Surviving to honor his memory are his two children, Benjamin Alfred "Al" Skolfield and Brianna "Muffin" Skolfield; parents Barry and Diana (Tozier) Skolfield; mother of his children, Kelley Skolfield; sister, Renee Skolfield and soul mate, Michael Davis; two nephews, Riley and Ty, all of Corinth; uncles and aunts, Paul and Ruth Tozier of Bangor, Keith and Donna Trask, Marvin and Leatha Wheeler, all of Corinth, Vicki Tozier of Florida, Barbara Randall of Seabrook, N.H., Ron and Sandra Moody of Florida, Bob and Cleo Skolfield of Island Falls, Larry and Susie McLaughlin of Old Town, and "Uncle Bill" of Kennebunkport; and many loving cousins and friends.

Relatives and friends are welcome to join the family to honor Brent's memory 4-7 p.m. Saturday, March 23, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor, where funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, March 24, with the Rev. Matthew Ward, pastor of Charleston Pentecostal Church, officiating. Spring interment will be held at Corinthian Cemetery, Corinth. The family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments immediately after the service Sunday at the Family Reception Center of Brookings-Smith, 163 Center St., Bangor. Those who wish to remember Brent in a special way may make gifts in his memory to Camden National Bank, care of Barry Skolfield, P.O Box 280, Corinth, ME 04427, for Brent's memorial headstone.
