ELLSWORTH - Bessie B. Martin, 98, the wife of the late Leonard (Arnold) Martin, died March 27, 2013, at an Ellsworth hospital. She was born Nov. 4, 1914, in Milbridge, daughter of Henry and Eunice (Tracy) Burke.

She worked for many years at the textile mill in Ellsworth and a clam factory.

She is survived by one daughter, Marie Martin Eplin of Merrimack, N.H.; three grandchildren, Lisa Godsoe of Nokomis, Fla., Chad Parritt of Sullivan and Tammy Donovan of Hancock; one great-granddaughter, Mary Jones; four great-grandsons, Daryl Camber, Randy Camber, Nick Donovan and Nathan Donovan; one sister-in-law, Marion Burke of Machias; four great-great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by six sisters, Beatrice Turner, Hazel Fraccola, Zelma "Sonny" Mitchell, Hilda Quinn, Gertrude Whicher and Marguerite Donnell; and one brother, Jack Burke.

Visiting hours will be held 5-7 p.m. Friday, March 29, at Bragdon-Kelley Funeral Home, Ellsworth, where a funeral service will be held noon Saturday, March 30. Committal will be after the service at York Hill Cemetery, Sullivan.
