ISLAND FALLS - Bernice D. (Wing) Cox "Bunny," 86, passed away peacefully May 10, 2012, surrounded by her loving family at Midstate Medical Center, Meriden, Conn. Bernice was the widow of Therman "Herbie" Edward Cox. She was born Feb. 22, 1926, in Island Falls, the daughter of the late Herbert and June (Dow) Wing. She was the devoted mother of Barry and wife, Marlene Cox, James and wife, Karen Cox, and Dale and wife, Jane Cox; grandmother of Rachel and husband, Greg Sackett, Alison and husband, John Tricarico, Danny Cox and fiancee, Jennifer, James Therman Cox, and Stephanie and husband, Randy Peterson; and the proud "GiGi" of 10 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters, Edrice Bates and Hazel Menze; brother, Brian and his wife, Linda Wing; and her special nephew, Michael Dunphy. Bunny was also the best "bench coach" the Boston Red Sox ever had. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her sister, Shirley Dunphy; and brother, William Herbert Wing. Graveside services will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, May 17, at Island Falls Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Ronald McDonald House or a .
