PRESQUE ISLE - Bernadette Marie Maillett, 87, died Jan. 30, 2013, at The Aroostook Medical Center, with her family by her side. She was born Aug. 27, 1925, the daughter of Vital and Martha Martin.

She was a communicant of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Presque Isle, and a past member of Daughters of Isabella. She worked for many years as head cook at Presque Isle Nursing Home, as well at the voting polls as registrar. Bernadette enjoyed playing cards, and spending time with her family and friends.
She is survived by four sons, James Maillett and his wife, Jan, of Bangor, Dan Maillett and his wife, Lynn, of Mapleton, Pat Maillett and his wife, Louise, of Fryeburg and Joe Maillett of Presque Isle. She also leaves behind a sister-in-law, Ruth Martin; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, James E. Maillett; and siblings, Albert Martin, Alphe Martin, Arther Martin, Rene Martin, Germaine LaPierre and Jeanette.
Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 1, at Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, 30 Church St., Presque Isle. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 2, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Parish of the Precious Blood with the Rev. Raymond Morency, celebrant.
