OLD SAYBROOK, Conn. - Annette Marie Wilcox, 68, beloved wife of Galen Dale Wilcox, passed away Dec. 11, 2012, at Yale New Haven Hospital. She was born Sept. 14, 1944, in Machias, daughter of the late Everett and Lillian (Gay) Gray.
Annette worked for Natures Playground, Deep River, Conn., for five years as a pre-school teacher before her retirement. She loved gardening, walking, going to the Casio, and watching the boats with her grandchildren. But her passion was to take care of Galen, her family and others who needed her. She will be sadly missed.
In addition to her husband of 46 years, Galen, she is survived by her children, Jeanette Andrews and her husband, David, of Vernon, Vt., Galen Wilcox Jr. and his wife, Katie, of Gorham, Diane Kelsey and her husband, Lee, of Lebanon, Conn., and Betty-Lou Johnson and her husband, Terrance, of Deep River, Conn.; one sister, Mary Mallory and her husband, Gene; and a brother, Perley Gray and his wife, Kathy, both of Machias. Annette is also survived by 10 grandchildren, Bradley Stephen Johnson, Angela Wigg and Justin Wigg, Sgt. Nathan Andrews, Emily Andrews, Kate Dillon, Travis Wilcox, Heather Harmon, Joe Wilcox and Autumn Nye; 13 great-grandchildren, also several nieces and nephews.
Memorial services to celebrate Annette's life will be held Saturday, Jan. 5, 2013, at Swan Funeral Home, 1224 Boston Post Road, Old Saybrook, Conn.
