BANGOR and CALIFORNIA - Andy Daniel Smith, 38, was taken from his family and friends May 22, 2012, in Bangor. He was born May 7, 1974, in Bangor, son of Steven and Cathy Smith of California, and Margie and Bob Day of Exeter; grandson of Harold and Cathy Smith of Florida, and Joan Walker of Maine; and predeceased by grandfather, Harold Walker. Andy graduated from Hermon High School in 1992. He attended the University College of Bangor where he studied liberal classes. Andy was a dive master instructor in the Florida Keys and worked in construction in the family business. Andy is survived by his loving wife of 15 years, Tracey Smith; his loving children, Austin and Kennedy; brothers, Harold Smith and wife, Miriam, of North Carolina, Jeremy Smith and wife, Tina, of California, Jason Hardy and fiancee, Amanda Hussey, of Exeter, and William Curran of California; three nieces, three nephews, several cousins, aunts and uncles, family in Virginia; special friends, Eugene "Shawn" Cox and Rose Cox of Bangor, Tom Dunroe; and many other friends that will dearly miss him. Friends may visit with the family 1-2 p.m. Sunday, May 27, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor, where a service to celebrate his life will be held 2 p.m. with Pastor Kirk Winters, pastor of Rock Church, officiating.
