FRENCHVILLE - Andre J. Ouellette died April 30, 2012, in Bangor, just 10 days before his 51st birthday. He was born May 9, 1961, in Madawaska, son of J. Paul and Cleo (Paradis) Ouellette of Frenchville. Andre was an intense person, passionate about all he did, be it at home, at work or at play. He was well respected and well loved by all who knew him. "Although he was small in stature, he was a big man, a huge soul, with a huge heart; a giant," said a friend and fellow worker at Twin Rivers Paper Mill, where Andre worked incessantly as a stock prep supervisor. Andre was devoted to his church, serving on the parish council of Our Lady of the Valley Parish for several years, and as a Eucharistic minister at St. Luce Catholic Church, Frenchville. Being a lifelong learner, he had a bachelor's degree in forestry and an advanced certificate in pulp and paper. He was diligently working toward a master's degree in business administration. Andre served on SAD 33 School Board for several years and was vice president of Pioneer Education Foundation. He was very active in the Boy Scouts for many years, belonged to Frenchville Recreation Committee and Frenchville Planning Board, and served as vice chief ranger of Court 1355 of Catholic Order of Foresters. Most of all, his heart was with "his girls," his wife and three daughters. He did everything to make sure that all their needs were met and their futures were assured. Although he was extremely serious about all of these things, he filled everyone's life with fun and laughter with his jokes, his twists and even a little bit of slapstick humor at times. Andre made life a little lighter and brighter for everyone. Even in death, he is a giving person, and through his organ donations, he saved/bettered the lives of many recipients. In addition to his parents of Frenchville, Andre leaves his beloved wife, Lynn (Nadeau) Ouellette; daughters, Elise, Sophie and Annie; brothers, Charles and wife, Tammy, of Fort Kent and Thomas and wife, Lisa, of Bangor; sisters, Celina Conway and husband, Dan, of Wilbraham, Mass., and Catherine "Carrie" Chojnowski and husband, Dan, of Windham; foster sister, Jo Ann (Michaud) Lane; several nieces and nephews, and numerous relatives and friends. Family and friends can gather 6-8 p.m. Friday or 8:30-9:30 a.m. Saturday at Michaud Funeral Home, St. Agatha. The funeral will be held 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Luce Catholic Church, Frenchville, with Father Philip Cyr officiating. In lieu of flowers, anyone interested in continuing Andre's legacy may make donations to his family at or New England Organ Bank. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
