LUCERNE-IN-MAINE AND STONINGTON - Alzena Osborne, 89, passed away Sept. 17, 2012, at her Lucerne home. She was born Aug. 25, 1923, in Stonington, the daughter of Edward and Florence Otto.
The Guest Book is expired.
Alzena loved her home on Phillips Lake and especially the long peaceful boat rides around the lake. Alzena greatly enjoyed her time she spent with her uncle, Russell Fifield of Stonington, and riding in his lobster boat. Her true love and passion was listening, singing and dancing to music. Her favorite hobby was crocheting. Alzena was an inspiration to all that had the great privilege to know and love her. She had a beautiful spirit that was full of life. Alzena's strong nature and will set her apart from the rest and made her extremely endearing. She will be forever loved and missed by all.
Alzena is survived by her sister-in-law, Bertha Otto; many nieces and nephews. Alzena is also survived by and was greatly loved and will be sorely missed by her extended family, Phillip Pierce Jr. and Rodney Dennis and their families. She loved the extended family she spent so many happy years with celebrating summer gatherings by the lake and her favorite holiday, Christmas. Lisa Hussey was truly her guardian angel and always had her best interest at heart. Her dear friends included her roommates, Roger and Terry; and her friends and teachers at the Ralph Leek Elders Program, who will find a void in their lives now that she has passed. Her husband, Seymer Osborne; her parents and siblings predeceased Alzena, along with a special uncle, Russell Fifield, who took care of Alzena for many years before he passed; and a special roommate, Gaye. Her extended family thanks Pat and her staff at New Hope Hospice, and especially Christii Maquillan, for all of their care and compassion during our time of need. Alzena really enjoyed their visits.
A memorial service celebrating Alzena's life will be held 3 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 20, at Hampden-Gilpatrick Funeral Home, 45 Western Ave., Hampden, with the Rev. Sue Davenport officiating. Memorial contributions in Alzena's honor may be made to New Hope Hospice, P.O. Box 70, Eddington, ME 04428. Messages of condolence and memories may be shared through www.hampdengilpatrick.com.
