ST. STEPHEN, New Brunswick - Harold "Ham" MacIlroy Jr. died Oct. 31, 2012, at a St. Stephen, New Brunswick, hospital after a lengthy illness. He was born in Bridgewater in 1932, the son of Harold Sr. and Gladys MacIlroy.

He was a graduate of Bridgewater Classical Academy and Babson College. He grew up helping in the family business, A.M. Stackpole Co. He also worked at Houlton Trust Co., Ricker College and, in addition to starting several businesses of his own, he was a finance director for the Passamaquoddy Tribe at Indian Township.
He is survived by his wife, Lillian and her family of St. Stephen, New Brunswick; the mother of his children, Ruth MacIlroy of Carmel; four children, Gregg and Joyce MacIlroy of Glenburn, Paul and Wanda MacIlroy of New Limerick, John MacIlroy and fiancee, Donna Gatlin, of Havelock, N.C., and Ann and Hasnain Nasser of Tanzania, Africa; son-in-law, Mark Fergerson of Newburgh; a sister, Anna and Gene Allen of Albuquerque, N.M.; grandchildren, Kristie and Steve Carr, Sam and Becky MacIlroy, Sarah and Brad Berthiaume, Adam Pratt, Kyle Lovely, Hannah Lovely, Jessica and Joe Ladd; and great-grandchildren, Chandler, Shaz, Natalie, Miles, Ellie, Ashley and Megan. He was predeceased by his daughter, Carol Fergerson; and a sister, Florence Marie.
Friends and family are invited to a gathering in his memory 1-4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 3, at 107 McCarthy Drive, New Limerick.
