Walter H. Covey Sr.

LAMOINE - Walter H. Covey Sr. passed away Feb. 8, 2013, at Togus. He was born April 20, 1935, in Lamoine.

He was a well-liked person and got along with almost everybody. Walter was a hardworking man throughout the years. His big passion was lobster fishing. In his earlier days many people considered him the best clam digger around. He loved his family very much and adored his grandchildren. Walter was a U.S. Navy veteran. He was a member of Moose Lodge, Ellsworth, and Ellsworth Elks.

He is survived by his loving wife of almost 40 years, Diane; son, Walter H. Covey Jr. of Lamoine; daughters, Tracy Robles of Florida and Stacy Covey of Unity; three grandchildren, Anthony Robles of Florida and Cameron and Kylie Grant of Unity; sister, Minnie Grindle; and brother, Elvin Covey. He was predeceased by his parents; and sisters, May Cope, Phronia Bohner and Nellie Gordon.

At his request, there will be no services. Donations may be made to Moose Haven and Moose Heart, care of Ellsworth Moose Lodge, P.O. Box 1754, Ellsworth, ME 04605.
