Sheila M. Boynton

HERMON - Sheila M. Boynton, 61, passed away Sunday, September 29, 2013, after a lengthy stay at a Bangor hospital and a courageous battle with cancer. She was born June 25, 1952, in Eagle Lake, the youngest daughter of Joan and the late Norman Soucie of Bangor.

She graduated from the University of Maine at Orono in 1975, mastered several languages and spent most of the rest of her life as a dedicated school teacher helping others learn French and German. As a gifted natural athlete, she excelled at bowling and golf.

Sheila's life was centered in and revolved around her family. Her "twins", Jonathan and Jennifer, were the loves of her life until she became a grandmother when Madison and Allison were born and subsequently bestowed all the unconditional love one could ever need. She had to learn how to deal with tragedy and a broken heart when Jennifer left this earth at an all too young age.

In addition to her son Jonathan and his wife and Sheila's beloved daughter-in-law, Trina, and their children Madison and Allison, Sheila is survived and will be missed by her mother, Joan, her sisters Madeline and Mona, her brothers Jim and Keith, sisters-in-law Kathy and Sue, brothers-in-laws Jim Decker and Bob Iwasko, and numerous nieces and nephews who all loved Aunt Sheila.

A family gathering to celebrate Sheila's life will be held Friday, October 4, 2013, at her son's residence in Hermon. Located at 579 Billings Rd. Everyone is invited to come and visit between the hours of 3pm and 6pm. A barbecue will be enjoyed between 4pm and 5pm. Please feel free to bring any dish, food or drink you would like. We look forward to seeing anyone who had a relationship with our Sheila or better known by some as Madame.
