Roland "Eddie" Asher Jr.

LINCOLN and PATTEN - Roland "Eddie" Asher Jr., 80, died July 16, 2013, at his home in Lincoln. He was born March 14, 1933, in Patten, son of Roland E. Asher Sr. and Hope (Cole) Asher.

Eddie was a U.S. Army veteran. He was an accomplished, self-taught steel-guitar player. He played in several bands, most notably, The Lincoln Troubadours. His passion was spending time with his children.

He is survived by three children, Wendy Asher, of Bangor, Crystal Smith and Galen, and Adam Asher and Tammy, all of Lincoln; two sisters, Dorothy Sides and Sandra Winship; eight grandchildren, Brandon, Austin and Cameron Chapa, Jacob Smith, Draven Asher and Jessica, Stephanie and Katie Smith; two stepgrandchildren, Heather Severance and Kimberly Dupuis; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by sister, Marguerite Raven; and stepgranddaughter, Jesi-Rai Burleigh.
