Norman R. Morrison

DETROIT - Norman R. Morrison, 64, died July 19, 2013, at his home, after a four month illness. He was born March 13, 1949, in Calais, son of Harold N. and Alfreda (Polk) Morrison.

He was a graduate of Woodland High School, Washington County, in the class of 1967. Norman was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Vietnam era. He was employed as a long haul truck driver for many years. Norman was an instructor for Northeast Training Institute and enjoyed training future "truck drivers." He enjoyed being a foster parent. He was a member of the Detroit Fire Department and a former member of the Odd Fellows, Woodland. He loved the out doors, especially while hunting, fishing and riding his motorcycle.

He is survived by his wife, Roberta J. Morrison of Detroit; seven sons, Norman Morrison and wife, Amy, of Newport, Frank Morrison of Franklin, Dillan Morrison of Calais, Dominick Morrison of Detroit, Travis Osborne of Millinocket, Chip Moors and wife, Patti, of Greenbush, and George Lowe and wife, Kelly, of England; sister and husband, Betty and Ron Rice of Calais; and several grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents; and a special niece, Tammy Acheson.

A celebration of Norman's life will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, July 28, at the Detroit Fire Department.
