Norman R. Jolin

HERMON - Norman Richard Jolin, 66, died March 2, 2013, surrounded by his family. He has gone home to the Lord and his parents, who predeceased him, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. He was born Feb. 25, 1947, in Biddeford, the son of Henry R. and Theresa Jolin.

Norm was a graduate of Old Orchard Beach High School, class of 1966. He served in the U.S. Navy Reserve for six years. Norm worked for 40 years for Shaw's Supermarket Incorporated and retired in the spring of 2009.

Surviving in addition to his wife and soul mate of 44 years, Ella (Sherman) Jolin of Hermon, are two sons, Rony Michaud and his partner, Kim Lawrence, and her two children, Kaleb and Sierra, of Vermont and Jonathan Jolin and his wife, Tricia, of Bangor; a granddaughter, who was the joy of his life, Katelyn Jolin, of Bangor; three brothers, Paul Jolin and his wife, Marlene, of South Carolina, Roger Jolin and his wife, Roberta, of Fairfield and David Jolin and his wife, Patricia, of Biddeford; several nieces and nephews; and his special buddy, the family pet, Smokey. The family thanks CancerCare of Maine for the wonderful care Norm received.

The family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, March 6, at the Family Reception Center of Brookings-Smith, 163 Center St., Bangor.
