MADAWASKA - James T. Archambault, 69, passed away unexpectedly at his home June 19, 2013. He was born July 27, 1943, in Madawaska, son of the late Paul and Corinne (Thibodeau) Archambault.
After high school, Jim graduated from the University of Maine, Orono, with a degree in chemical engineering. He enlisted in the U.S. Army
, where he served in the Vietnam War
in the 3D Battalion 22D Infantry, where he received the Purple Heart
. He was a lifetime member of American Legion, Post 147, Madawaska. Jim enjoyed many outdoor activities and all sports. He was a loving and generous man, who would always put others first.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 38 years, Louise (Cloutier) Archambault of Madawaska; two sons, Brian Archambault and wife, Christian, of Surprise, Ariz., and Nathan Archambault of Madawaska; granddaughter, Ava Archambault of Surprise, Ariz.; three brothers, Paul and wife, Elaine, of Brunswick, John and wife, Gwendolyn, of Brewer and Peter of Kedgwick, New Brunswick; and two nieces and four nephews.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Monday, June 24, at St. Thomas Aquinas Church. Family and friends may offer their condolences 10-10:45 a.m. at the church.
