James P. Shea

BANGOR - James Patrick Shea, 67, died peacefully June 27, 2013. He was born, Aug. 18, 1945, in Philadelphia, son of Charles and Helen (Signiski) Shea.

James served in the U.S. Air Force, earning the Medal of Honor for military merit, and was a Vietnam veteran. He graduated from Bishop Neumann High School, class of 1963, and also attended Eastern Maine Community College for building construction, and Kennebec Valley Technical College to be a maintenance mechanic. James worked for Hyster Corporation, local Union 1996, and owned and operated Applied Solar Concepts, doing energy auditing with Efficiency of Maine, being a certified professional BPI. He loved going fishing, canoeing, camping, gardening, dancing and rides in his antique car. He enjoyed life to the fullest.

James leaves behind his loving wife, Wendy Shea; two daughters, Patricia Campbell of Brewer, and Jennifer Kent of Bangor; two very close friends, Bruce and Steve; and a special bunny, Climber. A very special thanks to Bangor Fire and Hospice of Eastern Maine.

A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 2, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor, with the Rev. James Proctor officiating, where relatives and friends may call 10 a.m. until the time of service. Interment with military honors will be held immediately after the service at Corinthian Cemetery, Corinth. Condolences to the family may be expressed at www.BrookingsSmith.com.
