Clement F. X. Gallant

OLD TOWN - Clement F.X. "Bonhomme" Gallant, 87, died May 1, 2013, at a Bangor hospital after a brief illness. He was born Feb. 6, 1926, in Old Town, son of Frank X. and Albina (Guitard) Gallant.

He was a World War II veteran, having served with the U.S. Army. He was employed at Old Town Shoe Company and the University of Maine. He was a member of Old Town Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 3381.

He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Mary (Smart) Gallant of Old Town; daughter, Linda Crocker and husband, Fred, of Bangor; four grandchildren, Tobey Crocker of Bangor, Benjamin Crocker and Michelle of Old Town, Donita Gallant-Richard of Old Town and Christopher Gallant of Massachusetts; three great-grandchildren, Kelsey Gallant, Izabel Crocker-Smith and Ben Crocker; three sisters, Hazel Corriveau of Howland, Marianne Violette of Orono and Mary Jordan of Bangor; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two children, Tony Gallant and Clement Gallant Jr.; sisters, Mildred LeBlanc, Rita Harrison, Martina Spinney, Pauline Lucas and Joan Price; and two brothers, John and Nelson Gallant.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Tuesday, at Parish of the Resurrection, Holy Family Church, Old Town. Interment with military honors will be at Riverside Cemetery, Orono. Immediately after graveside services all are invited back to Holy Family Parish Center for a light luncheon and continued fellowship.
