Christopher P. Cannan

PORTLAND and EAGLE LAKE - Christopher P. Cannan, 43, died unexpectedly Dec. 16, 2013, in Portland. Chris was born June 16, 1970, in Fort Kent, the son of Patrick and Ann (Perreault) Cannan.

Chris served in the U.S. Army. He enjoyed volunteering his time in the City of Portland. He was an avid outdoors man and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He loved watching the Red Sox and New England Patriots. Chris was especially fond of his nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents of Eagle Lake, he is survived by his three sisters, Lisa and husband, Randy Kelly, of Allagash, Audrey and husband, Dave Langley, of Casco, and Deborah Cannan of Fort Kent; special godmother, Maggie and husband, Robert Loheed; and special niece and nephews, Ryan and Lindsay Kelly, Jarrett Cannan, Emily and Ethan Colson. He is also survived by several aunts and uncles. He was predeceased by his grandparents, Arthur and Jan Cannan, and Everett and Lorette Perreault; godfather, Dale Perreault, and Brian, Freddie and Jon Cannan.

Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Friday, and 8:30 a.m. until time of service Saturday, at Daigle Funeral Home, Fort Kent. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Saturday, at St. Louis Catholic Church, Fort Kent. Final resting place will be at Caribou Veterans Cemetery. At the request of the family, in lieu of flowers those who wish may donate in Chris's memory to the Fort Kent Ecumenical Food Pantry, 229 West Main St., Suite 103, Fort Kent, ME 04743; or to the Fort Kent Community High School Athletic Department, 84 Pleasant St., Fort Kent, ME 04743.
