FORT FAIRFIELD - Barbara J. Boulier, 65, wife of the late Wendell L. Boulier, passed away Monday evening, Dec. 17, 2012 at a Bangor healthcare facility, after an extended illness. She was born Nov. 4, 1947, in Fort Fairfield, the daughter of Robert W. and Arline C. (Skinner) Smyth.
Barbara was raised in Andover, New Brunswick, where she attended area schools. She became a resident of Fort Fairfield at the age of 18 and was married to Wendell L. Boulier, July 26, 1967. Mrs. Boulier had been employed by McCain Foods, Easton, for 21 years prior to her retirement. She loved to play bingo and cards with friends and family, however her greatest enjoyment came from spending time with her family, especially her only grandson, Nathan.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Boulier was predeceased by one daughter, Heidi, Nov. 13, 2009. She is survived by one son, Wendell "Duke" Boulier; one daughter, Virginia Boulier, both of Fort Fairfield; one brother and sister-in-law, Donald and Tonnie Smyth of Fort Fairfield; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Rose and David Edgecomb of Fort Fairfield, Laurie and John Sawyer of Augusta; one grandson, Nathan Boulier; several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call 1-2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 20, at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 166 Main St., Fort Fairfield, where a service to celebrate Barbara's life will be conducted at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Kevin Kinsey officiating. Spring interment will take place at Riverside Cemetery, Fort Fairfield. A time of continued fellowship with refreshments will be held at VFW
Paul Lockhart Post No. 6187, Presque Isle Street, Fort Fairfield, immediately after the service. Those who wish may contribute in memory of Mrs. Boulier to her family to be used in accordance with their wishes. Arrangements have been entrusted to Giberson-Dorsey Funeral Home, 144 Main St., Fort Fairfield.
