Armand P. Dumais

MADAWASKA - Armand P. Dumais, 82, passed away suddenly on Dec. 3, 2013, at a Fort Kent health care facility. He was born April 28, 1931, in Van Buren, son of the late Willie and Alice (Madore) Dumais.

He was a lifetime member of the American Legion post No. 147 of Madawaska, where he volunteered many hours of his time. Armand was instrumental in organizing a blood donation program through the VFW, before the Red Cross blood program existed. He also volunteered much of his time to the AA program, helping many people through difficult times.

He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Jeannine (Lagasse) Dumais of Madawaska; his brother-in-law, Roger Lagasse and his wife, Janine, of Fort Kent; and nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by three sisters, Blanche, Verna, and Jean; and two brothers, Abel, Albert.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 10, at St. Thomas Aquinas Church. As per Armand's request there will be no visiting hours. Interment will be held at a later date.
