Agnes Anne Ricker

BANGOR and WEST ENFIELD - Agnes Anne Ricker, 86, wife of James O. Ricker, passed away Feb. 1, 2013, at a Bangor health care facility. She was born Sept. 2, 1926, in Houlton, the daughter of Roy and Marion (Crandall) Olson of Oakfield.

Agnes Anne graduated from Oakfield Community High School in 1944; attended Gordon College, Boston, for two years; and graduated in 1949 from Madigan Memorial Hospital School of Nursing. After working a year at Milliken Hospital, Island Falls, she went to Lincoln and worked two years at Workman Hospital and then for around 30 years at the office of Dr. Wilfred Butterfield. She married James O. Ricker Jan. 8, 1955. She was a member of West Enfield Baptist Church since 1955 where she played the piano at services for many years.

In addition to her husband of Bangor, she is survived by a son and his wife, David and Carlene Ricker of Old Town; grandchildren, Katie and Aaron Ricker of Old Town; a brother and his wife, Donald and Charlotte Olson of Colorado Springs, Colo.; and a sister-in-law, Agnes Kays of Idaho. She was predeceased by a sister-in-law, Jane Nash.

A graveside service will be held in the spring at West Enfield Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to West Enfield Baptist Church.
