LINCOLN - Wilfred J. Bard Sr., 74, husband of Eleen E. (LeBlanc) Bard, passed away May 30, 2012, at a Lincoln hospital. He was born April 19, 1938, in Sinclair, son of Patrick and Eva (Albert) Bard. Wilfred was a U.S. Army veteran. He was employed for a while at Howland Tannery. A carpenter by trade, he owned his own construction company, Wilfred J. Bard & Son. He later went to work for Haskell Lumber, where he retired as construction foreman. For 42 years, Wilfred faithfully served the Lord. He visited and ministered at local nursing homes, and was a circuit preacher for local area Baptist churches. For the past 35 years, he was a faithful, active member of Community Evangel Temple, River Road, Lincoln, where he served as an executive board member, Sunday school teacher and worship leader. He is survived by his beloved wife of 48 years, Eleen; son, Wilfred J. Bard Jr.; grandson, Joseph and granddaughter, Madison and their mother, Rose Lea (Bard) Wilson, of Shrewsbury, Mass.; son, Michael D. Bard and his fiancee, Margareta Francis, of Bangor; daughter, Susan (Bard) Young and her husband, Brian Young Jr., and grandsons, Patrick and Christopher Young, of Attleboro, Mass.; and daughter, Mary (Bard) Elliott and her husband, Richard A. Elliott, of Worcester, Mass. He was predeceased by son, Rick A. Bard, who leaves grandson, Derreck Bard and his mother, Shelley Bard, of Wellington. He also leaves siblings, Richard Bard of Hiram, Leo and Marcella Bard of Port Orange, Fla., Clinton Bard of Milwaukee, Gerard and Allena Bard of Addison, Albert and Barbara Bard of Howland, Arthur and Thala Bard of Cypress Hill, Fla., Theresa and Norman Hallowell of Augusta, Bernadette and Val Paradis of Woodville, Joe and Norma Bard of New Hampshire. Friends may call 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday at Clay Funeral Home, 7 Lee Road, Lincoln. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday at Community Evangel Temple, River Road, Lincoln, with the Rev. Tim Shaw officiating. Interment will be at Lincoln Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Benevolent Fund at Community Evangel Temple.
