SPRINGFIELD - Stanley B. Webster, 85, passed away July 12, 2014 at a Lincoln healthcare facility. He was born Feb. 14, 1929 in Springfield, the son of Harry B. and Ruth (McKenney) Webster.

Stanley was a 1948 graduate of Lee Academy. He was a U S Army veteran of the Korean War, serving in the Honor Guard in Germany. Stanley was known for his fresh vegetables, especially his corn, which he pick fresh from the garden for each customer. He was well known for his maple syrup. Through 40 years of gathering maple syrup, he influenced many young men's lives teaching them the skills needed through their life.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by brothers, Lawrence, Kenneth, Maynard and "Dode" Lowell and sisters, Helen Webster Worcester and Mae Thibodeau. , He leaves behind siblings, Geraldine McCormick, Shirley Delano, Theo Webster and Paul Webster, as well as many nieces and nephews. He also leaves dear friends, Donna Stewart, Cody Stewart, Carrol "Gramp" Spencer, Gary Scott and Podie Scott.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 15 at Springfield Village Cemetery, with the Rev. Scott Taylor officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Legacy Fund at Lee Academy, 26 Winn Road, Lee ME 04455.
