FORT KENT - Rosaire A. Daigle, 81, passed away peacefully Dec. 5, 2013, at a Fort Kent health care facility. He was born Sept. 16, 1932, in New Canada, the son of the late Alcide and Emma Daigle.

Rosaire was a past member of the Fort Kent Knights of Columbus in the 3rd Degree, He served in the U.S. Army and was a member of the Fort Kent VFW Lozier O'Grady Post No. 9609 and past member of the Maine Potato Growers Association. Rosaire enjoyed hunting, riding in the woods, and Farming. He will be remembered for being always willing to lend a helping hand. He was very fond of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 48 years, Priscilla (Nadeau) Daigle of Fort Kent; his son, Rosaire Alan Daigle and wife, Terese, of Eauclaire, Wis.; four stepchildren, Jim and wife, Karen Gagnon, of Wallagrass, Audrey and husband, Rick Martin, of Portland, Nola and husband, Alan Belanger, of Portage, and Arthur and wife, Sheryl Gagnon, of Roy, Wash.; 13 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Delia LeSeiur of Saco, and Rita Courtois of Biddeford; two brothers, Armand and wife, Huguette Daigle, of Fort Kent, and Norman Daigle of Cross Lake; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by a grandson, Skylar McGee; two brothers, Claude and Clarence Daigle; and two sisters-in-law, Lowell and Stella Daigle.
Friends may call 8:30 a.m. until time of service Wednesday, Dec. 11, at Daigle Funeral Home, Fort Kent. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated with full military honors 11 a.m. Wednesday, at St. Louis Catholic Church, Fort Kent. Spring burial will be held at Maine Veteran Memorial Cemetery, Caribou. Those who wish may donate in his memory to the Lowell E.
