DOVER-FOXCROFT - RAYMOND D. Larrabee, 78, husband of Ramona (King) Larrabee, died May 4, 2012, surrounded by his family at his home. He was born May 16, 1933, in Dover-Foxcroft, the son of Herman and Eleanor (Brown) Larrabee. A U.S. Army Reserves veteran, Ray was an avid gardener and enjoyed working in the woods. He owned and operated Foxford Orchards; after it was sold, he started another orchard at his home. He also did carpentry for many years prior to a long career as maintenance supervisor at Hibbard Nursing Home, retiring after 24 years. Ray was also very involved in Boy Scouting and served as a leader for 18 years. He is survived by his wife, Ramona of Dover-Foxcroft; a daughter, Rhonda Gudroe and her husband, David, of Dexter; sons, Raymond Jr. and his wife, Macy, of Dover-Foxcroft, Ryan Larrabee of Pinellas Park, Fla., and Christopher Nason of Pinellas Park, Fla.; grandchildren, Travis Gudroe, Adam Gudroe and Amber Tibbetts; and great-grandchildren, Cally Gudroe, Adalea Gudroe, Liam Gudroe, Joshua Tibbetts and Cecelia Tibbetts. He was predeceased by brothers, Fred, Forrest, Stillman and Ivan; and a sister, Madeline. Friends are invited to call 6-8 p.m. Monday, May 7, at Lary Funeral Home, Dover-Foxcroft, where funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 8, with the Rev. Chad Poland officiating.
