NEWPORT AND WINTERPORT - Holton Frank Harriman, 35, passed away unexpectedly but peacefully in Pittsfield, March 26, 2014. Frank was born in Milford, Conn., the son of Lorraine (Lloyd) Spring and adopted son of Doyle D. Harriman Sr.

Frank grew up in Essex, Conn., and Winterport and was a 1997 graduate of Hampden Academy. He then served his country in the U.S. Army where he was on active duty for four years stationed in Fort Knox, Ky. Frank served two tours of duty in the Army Guard with the 1136 Transportation Co. to Kuwait and Afghanistan. He was currently in the Army Guard, 488th Military Police Co. of Waterville. After Frank's full time military service he worked for the Penobscot Sherriff's Office as a corrections officer at the Penobscot County Jail. In his spare time he enjoyed hunting, fishing, farming, and riding his horses, Trapper and Wendy. Frank will be remembered as a loving son, father, brother, uncle, cousin, nephew, and friend.

Frank is survived by his father, Doyle D. Harriman Sr.; his loving children, Alex and Paige Harriman; siblings and their respective spouses, Doyle Harriman Jr., Jason Shapiro, Elizabeth Shapiro, Merlin Lewis, Rachel Jewett, Roberta Mann, Sue Mogan, Steven Shapiro, Susan Shapiro, Heidi Harriman, Daisy Stymiest, and Heather Harriman; his grandfather, Franklin Lloyd; two uncles, Earl and Virgil Lloyd; an aunt, Kathleen Stevenson; his best friend and lifelong brother, Earl Davis and wife, Felicia, who he spent countless days with serving two tours of duty; special friends, Chris Burbelo, Joey Doyon, JR Gamble, David Davis, Laurie Whitcomb, Chasity Kitchen, Del Bradeen, and Amy M; his in-laws, Clara and Bill Sheean; his faithful canine companion, Frazier; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Frank was predeceased by his mother and grandmother, Elizabeth Lloyd.

Family and friends may visit from 10 a.m. - noon Thursday, April 3, at Hampden-Gilpatrick Funeral Home, 45 Western Ave., Hampden, where a funeral service will begin at noon with Pastor Steve Nute officiating.
