HAMPDEN - Helen J. (White) Crawford, 83, passed away peacefully Oct. 19, 2013, at her home surrounded by her family after a lengthy illness. Helen was born Oct. 11, 1930, in Old Town the daughter of Frederick and Bernice White.

Helen was a longtime resident of Hampden where she and her husband owned and operated Crawford's Import Auto, Inc. She was a member of the Whitcomb-Baker VFW Post No. 4633 Ladies Auxiliary as well as a member of the Sunshine Club of the Anah Shrine. Helen will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend.
Helen is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, Eugene L. Crawford of Hampden; children, Eugene "Chip" L. Crawford Jr. and wife, Donna, of Hampden, Pamela R. Crawford and James Plummer of Tomball, Texas, and Paula J. Spinney and husband, Jeffrey, of Corinth; grandchildren, Stephanie, Ryan, Paul, Jacob, Emily, Justin, and Amy; great-grandchildren, Justin Jr., and Owen; her brother, Howard White; brother-in-law, Paul Crawford and wife, Joyce; her sister-in-law, Joan Welch; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Helen was predeceased by her parents; and brothers, Gerald and Bernard White.
Helen's family extend a special thank you to St. Joseph's Hospice and particularly Helen's close friend Eleanor Willey for the compassionate care during her illness.
Family and friends are invited to visit 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 22, at Hampden-Gilpatrick Funeral Home, 45 Western Ave., Hampden, where a funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 23, with the Rev.
