EDDINGTON - Edward Harold King Sr., 74, passed away with his family by his side on Friday Dec. 20, 2013 in Daytona Beach, Fla. Eddie was born April 14, 1939, in Lincoln to Vaughn and Thelma Coleman King.

Eddie spent most of his younger years in Old Town, where he met and married the late Carol St. Peter. Together they had 5 children. Later in life Eddie married his now late wife, Joan Ellis. Together they had a daughter, the late Cynthia Ellis King. In the late 1970's, Eddie became a Floridian and spent most of his time in Lake Worth, Fla. For many years Eddie worked for Ocean Properties where he was loved and well respected. After retirement, he enjoyed many summers in Bar Harbor where he loved to visit his many friends. He enjoyed staying at Beverly and Frank's during summer visits to watch the wildlife. He especially looked forward to watching the annual return of the fox family each year. Eddie was passionate about NASCAR and never missed a Daytona 500. He also enjoyed camping and traveling. Eddie was a lifetime member of the Elks Club where he enjoyed his Budweiser!

Eddie is survived by his five children Beverly Pawlendzio and husband Frank and family of Eddington, Edward King Jr. of Georgia, Mark King and wife Sharon and family of Boynton Beach, George King and family of New Hampshire, and Heather-Jo Melanson and family of Bangor, many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and very special and long time friend, Pat Peters of New Hampshire. Eddie also leaves behind his brother, James King Sr. and wife Virginia of Old Town, Lloyd King of Old Town and Daytona Beach, Barbara Damboise and husband Gerald of Milford, and Jerry King and wife Debbie of Winthrop.

A Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 6, 2014, at St Ann's, in Bradley. Following mass there will be a luncheon downstairs of the church. Friends and family are invited to 29 Comins Lane, Eddington, 4-8 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Shriners Hospital for Children in Boston, 51 Blossom St., Boston, MA 02114. All cards can be sent to the Pawlendzio's at 29 Comins Lane, Eddington, ME 04428.
