GLENBURN - Albert E. Briggs, 94, died July 1, 2012, at a Bangor hospital. He was born Feb. 6, 1918, in Hudson. Albert was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, serving in the European Theater. He loved hunting, fishing, gardening, trapping and taking care of his flowers. Albert was a carpenter and he worked for Weatherbee's as a painter. He was a member of the American Legion, Glenburn Grange and Glenburn Fire Department. Albert was a loving and caring husband. Albert is survived by his wife of 54 years, Lucille Briggs; a son, Albert E. Briggs and his wife, Pat, of Arkansas; two daughters, Edwina Smith and her husband, Dale, of Texas and Susan Pontious and her husband, Benjamin, of Washington; nine grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Albert was predeceased by one brother and three sisters. A graveside service will be conducted 1 p.m. Friday, July 6, at Lakeview Cemetery, Glenburn. The family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments at Glenburn Evangelical Covenant Church, 911 Hudson Road, Glenburn.
